Verbwatches
Nounwatches
From Wiktionary under the GNU Free Documentation License. A watch is a timepiece that is made to be worn on a person. It is usually a wristwatch, worn on the wrist with a strap or bracelet. In addition to the time, modern watches often display the day, date, month and year, and electronic watches may have many other functions. Most inexpensive and medium-priced watches used mainly for timekeeping are electronic watches with quartz movements. Expensive, collectible watches valued more for their workmanship and aesthetic appeal than for simple timekeeping, often have purely mechanical movements and are powered by springs, even though mechanical movements are less accurate than more affordable quartz movements. Before the inexpensive miniaturization that became possible in the 20th century, most watches were pocket watches, which often had covers and were carried in a pocket and attached to a watch chain or watch fob. Watches evolved in the 1600s from spring powered clocks, which appeared in the 1400s. PartsFrom Wikipedia under the

Some years back there used to be advertisements in news papers etc ffrom buyers of old watches. One does not see those now.I have some such prized watches for disposal. Can some one help me find buyers? Asked by kaypeekps - Sun Jan 18 06:24:00 2009 - - 1 Answers - 0 Comments A. Many vintage watches are sold on Ebay, where they tend to command a price lower than that which a dealer would sell them for - however, by cutting out the middle-man, a private seller would probably get more than a dealer would buy for. To get the best price, join a couple of watch forums on the internet and get involved. Most have a sales corner where good examples from trusted sellers make the most cash for a private seller. A lot is dependent on the condition of the watches - anything which is in dire need of a service or restoration will plummet in price, whereas a decent usable example should fetch more. prices have been affected by the credit crunch, but vintage 50's Seamasters tend to fetch between 100 and 300 here in the UK… [cont.] Answered by blackandgolduk - Wed Jan 21 07:25:07 2009 Who watches the watchers ?Is the best way to judge a society by how it treats it's weakest members ?
Q. Those are fairly old political questions Who watches the watchers ? There are those who are given certain powers within society - The police the judges the politicians and others - if it is their job to watch us - who watches them ? It was said and for the most part accepted some time ago that the best way to judge a society is how it treats it's weakest members -which sort of blends into who watches the watchers Who are the weakest members of todays society and how are they treated at the hands of the strongest in our society ? If the above is the measuring stick - How are "we" doing ? Asked by Trout - Sun Oct 5 12:21:15 2008 - - 7 Answers - 0 Comments A. poor people are the weakest (politically speaking). We are treating them just like they're invisible and mute...almost like they "owe" it to the rest of society to not ask too many questions and let the 'qualified' people handle all the problems. In the mean time, the 'qualified' people are slowly enslaving the population via socialistic economic policies. So, no, we're not doing a very good job watching the watchers. The Watchers are corrupt and are daring you to do anything about it...
