What basic services are provided by non-profit organizations?
Q. I'm trying to find out what basic services are provided by non-profit organizations. I know they all have their specific field, but there is a structure of sorts that all non profits will go through. I'm looking for a list of basic (and some not so basic) services they render, as well as a list of information detailing what the organization does through out the year. ie, look for sponsors 20% of the time, give away money or services 30% of the time, etc. Best answer will go to the person who is descriptive, detailed, knowlegable, and meets the requirements of the question. A. I am a volunteer co ordinator in a NFP organization and the basic services we provide are looking after people We have a management committee who run the organization It is their job to look after finding funding and the basics Our field is Public housing we are tenant run and tenant managed The treasurer looks for funding Secretary does the paperwork and myself and other vols look after the community centre We have a constitution which is rules and guidlines that we operate by the committee has 4 general meets a yr and 1 annual general meet Hope this helps in some small way

Can tax services cause you grief and problems from the IRS later?
Q. How often does it happen? I have a friend using one service and they are boasting that he is getting back over $3000. That seems excessive based on his earnings and filing status. What tricks do these tax services use and how can it hurt you later?

A. If a tax preparer files a false return for a client, the tax preparer is likely to end up in big trouble, right along with the client who signed the false return. There aren't "tricks" available. If your friend has children and has income under around $38,250, he is probably eligible for an earned income credit which could result in a high refund. Or if he had way too much withheld, he'd get a large refund.

What are some lawn maintenance/design services that are not offered much,and people would be willing to pay 4?
Q. We are expanding a lawn maintenance business we already have, and are looking to offer more services. We want to know what people are wanting, specifically services not offered much, because we are wanting to make a profit. Clients are willing to pay a little extra if it's something they want/need done and we are the only business who offer the service. Anyway, it does not even have to be lawn related. Any cool or interesting ideas, that would make our business stand out?

A. not knowing how big your company is and what you are already offering - you could do pruning and hedge trimming - you could offer aerating and leave removal - if you have a good mulcher on your equipment offer to mulch the leaves on the grass they will deteriorate and feed the soil and cut down on the fertilizer need to feed the grass - you could clean gutters - offer your customers whatever they want - people like to deal with one company that do a good job than 2 or 3 company's that will only do one thing
