Comparison with cell phone companies... which one is pure quality, service plus price?
Q. Of all the phone companies there are for Cell Phones, which one is the best? My personal opinion is T-mobile (www.t-mobile.com) Prepaid to go! and their sidekick LX kicks butt for only $1.00 a day... unlimited!

A. T-Mobile is not the best overall. Their is not one cell phone company perfect in everything, like price, or service, or call quality. GSM Carriers (like T-Mobile and Cingular) have issues with good call quality. They will have very scratchy calls and some other issues. Overall, they aren't the best. CDMA carriers like Verizon or Sprint offer more coverage and better call quality, but their price plans seem to come at us a little harder. You will pay more with Cingular or Verizon...but you will have slightly better coverage...and a lot better coverage with Verizon Wireless because they are constantly building.

Is there an effective way to easily compare printing services in terms of cost and quality?
Q. There are seemingly thousands of different printing services out there, but it seems very difficult to compare among them. I find myself visiting many different companies and spending a great deal of time trying to compare them. There are price comparison search engines for products, but I don't know of any for printing services. Do they exist? Even just a general printing service price tracker? There is also the question of quality - do any sites review and compare the quality of services? Even if there are no quality review sites, simply a good price comparison tool would be helpful. Most printers can make arrangements to provide samples, allowing the quality question to be answered.
Asked by bluewhiteg3 - Sat Dec 9 06:02:11 2006 - - 2 Answers - 1 Comments
A. just focus on the 3: grade of paper, resolution(dpi's), cost/M then delivery... (how fast they can comply) but you can try asking for quotes...samples will help with a proper quote from how exactly you want the outcome to be... from there you can compare... just narrow down to at least 2 companies... or you can try this...

Is there a high speed internet service provider comparison site...?
Q. where you can actually compare the real prices of ISPs, and not their promotional offers, so you can find out what the actuall prices are going to be. I am tired of searching and searching the net only to come across all the affiliate " ISP comparison sites", that are just loaded with a bunch of banners, that describe the ISPs promotional offers. It is really annoying, there are too many affiliates that are out to make money and want you to click on there banners and sign up so they make money, but there is no real informative sites that will actually give you the facts in a comparison chart of their internet speeds, and real prices.

Anyone know of some good avg. auto repair and parts pricing info websites to be used for comparison quotes?
Q. Wondered if anyone knew of some good websites to check average costs for auto repair/replacement, parts and avg. time needed to perform a service. For example: How may hours does it take to replace a water pump in a mid-sized car? Any useful sites are much appreciated. Thanks!

A. I use rockauto.com to compare parts prices, they're pretty cheap & have a pretty large parts catalog. Not sure of any sites that estimate labor for various jobs, although a repair manual (Haynes, Chilton etc) would have labor estimates.

A. Phil, One thing I learned is that it's more important to focus on the quality of your followers over the quantity. You can easily get a bunch of followers by following people at random, but if none of them visit your site it really won't mean much. A couple of things you should do, is look for Twitter accounts that discuss mobile phones, find their followers, and start following them. If somebody is following a Twitter account that discusses mobile phones, chances are that they will have an interest in your account. Additionally, Tweet OFTEN. The more you Tweet, the more exposure your account will get. Check out search.twitter.com. Every time you post a tweet, it will show up hear if somebody searches for a phrase that was within… [cont.]

How do you comparsion shop for routine health care services?
Q. I have a high-deductible health plan and would like to make the most out of my health care dollars by comparison shopping for prices. What tools do other consumers use to look up prices and find the best value. My health plan does not provide very good price transparency tools so I need to rely on other sources.
Asked by ConsumerAdvocate - Thu May 22 10:05:42 2008 - - 2 Answers - 0 Comments
A. We desperately NEED price transparency and the system is rigged against it. What I recommend is get a really good PCP and start with his recommendations. Also see if you pay him cash at the time of service if he'll give you a discount--quite a few docs take 30-50% off for that as insurance is low and slow pay usually and the paperwork costs are enormous. Consider looking for things like lab work via grocery stores, drug stores, and Walmart. Kid you not. In Arizona, we have two chains of groceries that do that--Bashas and Fry's. They both have independent labs that come through about once a month and will do testing for greatly reduced costs versus what you normally pay via the doc sending you to some place or drawing your blood and… [cont.]

Cheaper options for getting around SE England by rail?
Q. My husband and I are planning a trip to England this summer and we are looking into taking some excursion trips from London to Stratford Upon Avon and Bath. I've been pricing the rail trips for this on National Rail and in comparison to what we pay for train service in the Netherlands the prices are insane. Is there a discount card or four day pass or some other value option that insiders know about that could save us travel costs on our trip?
Asked by Elizabeth N - Mon May 12 04:59:08 2008 - - 1 Answers - 0 Comments
A. check out the railcard website - there is a south east network card that you can buy for UK20 which gives you 1/3 off your fares. I usually buy the family railcard when I'm home in the UK for a holiday and even though I only use it for a few weeks, it is worth buying rather than paying the full fare.

Q. Yesterday, my Husband, 5 year old son, 4 month old daughter, and I went into the Lewisville Huffines Dodge Dealership in Texas. My Husband found an 2008 Dodge that he liked. My Father cosigned with him for credit reasons, but the transaction had not gone through. They allowed my Husband to go ahead and let him take the truck home. My Father has been best friend's with one of the Service Manager's for over 10 years. I have a Chrysler Sebring that needed some things fixed, so I left it there last night to be fixed today. I went home and looked up the exact same truck in our area because I felt like we could have gotten a better deal. A. I would have done the same thing. If the dealership and shop were closed it does sound reasonable, they don't have to open when closed. If they were open and refused to give you your car, then you have a legal option- I would call police and tell them they are refusing to return your property and the vehicle is stolen.

How to make fax machine work after switched from hardline phone to a VOIP phone service?
Q. After I switched from AT&T hardline phone (PSTN) to iTalkBB Internet phone (VOIP) service, my same voice phone works just fine while my same fax machine does not. All my two computers and two VOIP boxes, one for phone and one for fax with different phone number, are behind the router. According to my VOIP provider s advice, I've tried to slow down transmission speed (on fax machine) from the default 33.6 (mbps) to 9600 baud and turned off ECM. A. Actually, you don't need a cable modem with more than 1 port to split your network up. I use a Linksys "5-Port Switch" ($40) connected to the output of my Cable Modem. All you need is an allocation of two IP addresses from Time Warner. Most ISP's that provide HighSpeed Internet also allow you two Dynamic IP Addresses. (You are using Dynamic IP assignment from ISP rather than Fixed IP?) In my case, I had to contact customer support and ask them to "activate" the 2nd dynamic IP (even though they say it is free, I still had to request it to be activated because most people don't know how to use two IP's). Modem connects to Port 4 or 5 (Uplink port) of the Linksys Switch. From the Linksys Switch: - I have a Linksys WRT-54G NAT-Router… [cont.]

A. where i live in melbourne i am within 15 Min's of some of the best asian restaurants anywhere and only a few minutes to the greek capital of aus so i guess you can say we have some good eateries but nothing beats eating at home i don't really have any favourite restaurant it just depends on which part of the world i feel like eating from at the time wherever i go i always find the prices reasonable and always find the food quality and the service enjoyable but idon't believe that this is more so in melbourne than anywhere else in australia i have been interstate many times and always seem to find great restaurant or diners wherever i go i guess it is because australia is now a multicultural society

Need base price for dog boarding?
Q. Is the price based on size etc...animal per day?.Just trying to do a comparison on what it would have cost the client had she used kenneling services...I kept watch over 6 dogs , at their home, their food etc... for 3 nights and 3 days. I made 10 total trips, 8 roundtrip miles. Stayed with them sometimes 2-3 hours for play and companionship. Dont need the: "you should have agreed on a price before hand" spill, she will pay me what I ask. Thanks ! : )
