With a 3-phase elecrical panel, how does it work when connected to a 2 phase subpanel?

A. The 3-phase panel acts as the main source of power for the 2-phase panel in this instance. You us a double pole breaker big enough to hold the load of the panel as the means to supply the power to it.

A. Look for a wiring diagram on the motor connection plate. It will tell you the voltage and the L1 and L2 connections.
