Start with the definition of culture in the context of the business world: from the set of shared attitudes, values, goals, and practices that characterizes an institution or organization. Now you need to figure out, subjectively, what is "healthy" relative to an organization's culture. This sounds like a good comparison/contrast exercise. Take some organizations you admire, and some you dislike strongly. Now compare and contrast their leaders and the organizational culture...and see what the role of the leaders were in both types of organizations to the way the organizations work, and how the general public and the employees perceive those organizations. I hope this helps...good luck in your studies. I had one inbound call center than answered more than 85% of its calls in less than 20 seconds. The CEO wanted me to cut the wait to 10 seconds. When I showed him the math (Earlang tables and queueing analysis -- fun stuff), he realized that he would actually have to hire not just a few more bodies, but 50% more roughly. That's because calls come in randomly, and a call centter manager can pretty accurately get to daily fluctuations, but even the best WFM (workforce management) folks have trouble at the quarter… [cont.] Answered by Joubert - Sat Jul 8 00:16:15 2006 is there any correlation between economics and organizational theory?

In micr-economics, markets are organisations, households taking consumption decisions and firms taking production decisions are all organizations. However, the minstream economics deals with the formal, rational part of the behaviour oe firms, housholds, markets, economic sectors, national economies and international economics and the emphasis in mainstream economics is on optimisation of goals and objectives like utlilty maximization, cost minimization, subject to constrains on… [cont.] Answered by 8^3release - Tue Jan 15 05:47:44 2008 From Yahoo Answer Search: "organizational" |
