UK: How much does a tooth extraction cost on the NHS?
Q. Also, will I be eligible for free dental work if I am currently receiving disability allowances for a few physical and mental health problems? The reason for the tooth extraction is because I suffered substantial damage to two teeth a few years ago when snowboarding, I only had one removed and never bothered with the other as it has never caused me any pain up until recently. Information regarding costs would be greatly appreciated - thank you!

What are some advantages and disadvantages of the extraction and manafacturing of copper?
Q. What are some advantages and disadvantages of the extraction and manafacturing of copper? I am researching this for science, and having problems finding some good information.

A. Most copper ores are sulphides and these are turned to the acid rain gas, sulphur dioxide, as the copper is extracted:this acid gas is the cause of a lot of enviromental damage(as at paris mountain as 'J' mentions above). The advantage of copper extraction is that it is a vital ,and very profitable material bothh as pure copper in electical equipment and as less pure copper in domestic water pipes. It is also a constituent of hundreds of different alloys with tin, zinc, nickel silicon.phosphorus and beryllium for bearing alloys and marine and domestic use.

The Khmer make up 90% of Cambodian population. Also Cambodia is also the 3 most mined (land mines) country in the World.

Is it normal to insert sponge after molar tooth extraction (Dental Question)?
Q. Hi, I got my molar tooth (18) extracted, the dentist after extraction inserted a sponge type material in the cavity created by removed tooth. Is this normal procedure after extraction? It seems I have to keep this sponge for ever in the cavity. Any information regarding this is highly appreciated Thanks
Asked by punjabi_fun_love - Wed Jan 14 09:25:17 2009 - - 3 Answers - 0 Comments

A. Don't worry they (sponges) will eventually dissolve/disappear after sometime. All you need to do now is to take care of your dental hygiene to prevent any bacterial infection at the area. Rinse your mouth with listerine solution or any mouth rinser you can found near your place. Hope my explanation may help to solve your curiosity on this matter. Good luck :)

A. look it up on wikipedia. There's lots of information there, and there are more than likely links to papers that will help you. If you're talking about extracting metals from metal oxide ores, then that's not too hard. Most often the way it is done is by using steps of redox reactions. Often the metal content of an iron ore is determined by a redox titration using a reagent called permanganate (MnO4^-). From there they can determine how much iron is in a sample of ore and therefore decide whether or not mining there will be worthwhile. Often Aluminum ores are processed using Fluorine extracted from a mineral called Fluorite (CaF2) and using strong redox reactions to remove oxygen and other undesirable things.

Q. the DDS Dec 26. They are talking sugery to repair the hole. Any information will be appreciated.
Asked by Riverrat - Sun Nov 25 17:49:37 2007 - - 4 Answers - 0 Comments

A. The roots of upper premolars/molars are very close to the floor of the Maxillary Sinus, sometimes during an extraction procedure the floor of the sinus may be perforated, in the majority of such cases the perforation is so small that no lasting damage is done as the perforation is protected by a blood clot which fills the socket, and neither the patient/dentist is actually aware that it has happened. If the perforation is larger the patient may become aware of this by the presence of fluid entering the nose after drinking/rinsing the mouth out, this perforation is called an Oro-Antral Fistula and needs to be closed to prevent infection of the sinus. Small perforations can be closed by stitching the socket, larger ones require closure by… [cont.]

Hard Disk information extraction.....?
Q. I have a couple of old "disembodied" 8086/8088 hard drives, that I've kept after all these years due to some important info that each contain. My question is: how can I extract- or copy that info to another unit or disk? Please advise me if there is such a way and how to go about doing it. Remember- these are just the hard drives and nothing else.
Asked by starflames - Thu Jun 29 22:50:27 2006 - - 2 Answers - 0 Comments

A. Install them into your computer as slave drives and access them thru my computer. Should be able to cut/copy and paste. If you do not want to open the computer purchase an ide to usb cable or an external enclosure. Simply make all of the connections and then do the same as an internal hard drive. WinXP should automatically find the drives and install the necesary drivers. I have done it on several old 5.25" hard drives. I use them as backups, nothing like extending the life of 7 yr old tech. First link ide to usb cables (I personally have the Bytecc) Second link external enclosures Hope this helps.

How long should I wait after a tooth extraction to eat?
Q. I had a molar pulled out 2 hours ago. I am still bleeding, and in some pain. I did not have breakfast so I am very, very hungry. When can I eat? Should I wait until the bleeding stops or can I eat now. Should I wait a few more hours to eat? I know I am allowed to eat soft foods, but the information I got does not tell me when I am allowed to eat soft foods. What about liquids, when can I start those? I just don't want to eat something and then get an infection because of it.
Asked by magnolia - Thu Nov 19 15:11:49 2009 - - 3 Answers - 0 Comments

A. Remember: If you don't eat, then your body won't gain enough energy. I suggest that you try eating, using the opposite side of the extracted site. For example: If your right side of your mouth is painful, eat with your left side!

A. Informatin extraction in natural language processing, information extraction (IE) is a type of information retrieval whose goal is to automatically extract structured information, i.e. categorized and contextually and semantically well-defined data from a certain domain, from unstructured machine-readable documents. An example of information extraction is the extraction of instances of corporate mergers, more formally MergerBetween(company1,co mpany2,date), from an online news sentence such as: "Yesterday, New-York based Foo Inc. announced their acquisition of Bar Corp." A broad goal of IE is to allow computation to be done on the previously unstructured data. A more specific goal is to allow logical reasoning to draw inferences… [cont.]

A. In SNJ, my fee is $115 for a basic extraction. You'd need at least one x-ray at $20 first, though. Now... If someone has three teeth out that are no more difficult than removing one tooth - meaning they are all three next to each other and they are all three flapping in the breeze - I might do all three for the price of one. The site might need to be sutured, so that would cost another twenty bucks (which actually pays for the return visit to have the suture removed), but that's how I would handle it. Maybe there is someone near you who would do the same. The only problem is, if you called my office and asked how much three extractions would cost, we would tell you, "Each one would be from $135 to $200, as long as it was not an… [cont.]

Q. there is someone that give me information about oil extraction from the oilseed using ultrasonic method?
Asked by M D - Wed Oct 20 09:00:05 2010 - - 1 Answers - 0 Comments

A. "Ultrasonication is often used to improve the extraction of lipids and proteins from plant seeds, such as soybeans (e.g. flour or defatted soybeans) or other oil seeds. In this case, the destruction of the cell walls facilitates the pressing (cold or hot) and thereby reduces the residual oil or fat in the pressing cake. The influence of continuous ultrasonic extraction to the yield of dispersed protein was demonstrated by Moulton et al. The sonication increased the recovery of dispersed protein progressively as the flake/solvent ratio changed from 1:10 to 1:30. It showed that ultrasound is capable to peptize soy protein at almost any commercial throughput and that the sonication energy required was the lowest, when thicker slurries… [cont.]

A. If by DNA extraction you mean the ability to isolate DNA, then there are many links between DNA extraction and biotechnology. The ability to extract or isolate DNA from cells and tissues has allowed huge advances in biotechnology including the ability to catch murderers and rapists and the ability to sequence the entire human genome. With a pure sample of DNA you can test a newborn for a genetic disease, analyze forensic evidence, or study genes involved in cancer. The ability to extract DNA has also allowed us to be able to identify remains of soldiers killed in battle who otherwise would be unidentifiable. DNA extraction is also used in paternity cases. Furthermore, DNA extraction has allowed us to study the genomes of many animals and… [cont.]

Tooth extraction and Dry Sockets!?
Q. I've recently got my teeth extracted, one thats considered a back tooth on the bottom, but closest to the front was removed due to it still being a baby tooth with no adult tooth underneath. I woke up the next morning with something strange and red, i spit it out, and it turned out to be a blood clot of some sorts. I've been reading some information about teeth extraction and dry sockets, and Apparently from the information that i've read it says that I should not remove those blood clots and thats the cause of dry sockets. Althought, the information was not totally reliable and i'll admit, i skim through things. My question is should I remove blood clots or any thing developing where my tooth was extracted? And how can I prevent dry… [cont.]

A. Dry sockets happen when there is insufficient blood the in the socket to initiate the healing process. Smoking can be one good cause to lead to a dry socket, especially if its a tooth in the lower jaw. Best is to avoid smoking and meet your dentist for a check up. Dr. Jagdish T.
