The Examiner was a weekly paper founded by Leigh and John Hunt in 1808. Albany Fonblanque, the journal's political commentator since 1826, took over the Examiner in 1830, serving as editor until 1847. He brought in such contributors as John Stuart Mill, John Forster, William Makepeace Thackeray, and most notably Charles Dickens. He wrote the first notice of Sketches by Boz (28 February 1836) and of The Pickwick Papers (4 September 1836). Foster became the magazine's literary editor in 1835, and succeeded Fonblanque as editor from 1847 to 1855. The magazine ceased publication in 1886. From Wikipedia under the

From Google Video Search: "examiner" Does anyone have info on becoming a medical examiner? Q. I'm thinking about becoming a medical examiner. I need info on what courses I'd have to take in college, and what the pros and cons are of being in that line of work. Thanks. Asked by LivingDeadKat - Thu May 3 13:13:06 2007 - Other - Education - 1 Answers - Comments A. In most jurisdictions in the United States, a medical examiner needs to be a licensed physician. In some cases specialized training in forensic pathology is required. This is typically an appointed position. Courses in death investigation are available for those without previous training or experience from a variety of sources. In the Virginia jobs post (2 reference below) the pay range is from $87,812 to $180,000 a year. This is because you have to be a doctor and then specialize in that field, so you will be in school for some 12+ years! That link has all of the specific licenses and education you need, along with experience (Both practical and clinical) to get such a position. Q. Or would I have to work a few years as medical examiner assistant before actually being the medical examiner and performing the autopsies? Can someone give me a basic timeline for education and career for a path to becoming a medical examiner? How about the salary? Is it easy to become a medical examiner? Is it easier to find a job as a medical examiner than to find a job as a surgeon? Asked by Jimmy L - Sat Jun 12 10:31:03 2010 - Higher Education (University +) - 1 Answers - Comments A.
