A designer is a person who designs or creates something. Perhaps the broadest definition is that provided by psychologist Herbert Simon: 'Everyone designs who devises courses of action aimed at changing existing situations into preferred ones.' As well as amateur designers, there are many professional designer occupations (see list of Examples). To become a professional designer usually requires study to degree level and certain work experience or training. Entry to some design professions is strictly controlled or limited by legal requirements, but use of the title 'designer' is generally un-regulated. Working as a designer usually implies being creative in a particular area of expertise. Designers are usually responsible for developing the concept and making drawings or models for something new that will be made by someone else. Their work takes into consideration not only how something will look, but also how it will be used and how it will be made. There can be great differences between the working styles and principles of designers in different professions. In the 1980s the term 'designer' began to be applied to products such as furniture and clothing that had distinctive aesthetics or were the work of certain 'signature' designers. So, for example, there were 'designer chairs' and 'designer jeans'. The term later came to be applied to anything that was ostentatiously created for a purpose, such as 'designer drugs', or even the 'designer stubble' worn by some fashionable men. a designer is a person who designs objects. --99.188.224.223 (talk) 01:14, 5 February 2010 (UTC)The role of a designer in today's society goes far beyond that of which it has traditionally and historically been known for. Experiences are really what we are creating through the thoughtful and deliberate application of design. People demand better experiences and it is the role of the designer to deliver them through the observation of life and the people living it, in order to identify opportunities that makes life better and more meaningful, in most cases meaningful enough to charge more money for. Please tell what more do they need? Asked by BabymaH - Mon Jan 14 05:29:03 2008 - - 1 Answers - 0 Comments A. In shop work we have two types of supplies, on hand non job specific and supplies purchased specifically for a particular job. On hand non job specific supplies include pins, needles, threads, zippers in many colours and lengths, hooks and eyes, basic buttons, interfacings in all weights, china silk for linings, and cotton muslin for making test garments to fine tune design and fit. These are often purchased from warehouses or wholesalers in large lots. I buy rolls of interfacings and linings, never two yards here or three yards there...I always buy a whole roll. For thread I buy long staple polyester on 5000 meter cones, it cheaper to buy in large quantities. Pins come in one pound boxes, stainless steel longs, also known as "dorcas [cont.] Answered by Linda S needs more time! - Mon Jan 14 08:53:48 2008 What are the top modeling agencies and designers in the Philipines?
